Save the Date: Miami Symposium 2026 – Stomach Cancer: A Multidisciplinary Approach Better Outcomes

This educational symposium provides patients, caregivers, and families with a comprehensive look at stomach cancer care through both supportive and scientific perspectives, emphasizing the value of a multidisciplinary approach to improving outcomes.

The morning program, “Supporting the Whole Patient,” will explore the team behind the cancer journey, including patient navigation, survivorship, palliative care, physical therapy, social work, and music and art therapy. Additional sessions will address nutrition before, during, and after treatment; eating after gastrectomy; weight, appetite, vitamins, and nutritional deficiencies; Reiki and integrative wellness; and mental health and emotional support throughout the cancer journey.

The afternoon scientific session will focus on stomach cancer risk factors, prevention, and screening, including H. pylori and digestive health; biomarker testing; targeted therapies; emerging treatment options; and the role of medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, gastroenterology, and pathology in coordinating individualized treatment plans.

By addressing both the medical and supportive dimensions of cancer care, the symposium is designed to help attendees better understand the resources, specialists, and treatment considerations that can support patients throughout the stomach cancer journey.
