The Impact of Community Fundraising

During Gastric Cancer Awareness Month in 2025, DDF advocates across the country raised more than $60,000 through community fundraising walks.

When One Community Takes Action

In November 2024, patient advocate Lisa Bartoszewicz organized Strides Against Stomach Cancer, raising more than $20,000 to support scholarships for DDF’s 13th Annual Stomach Cancer Capitol Hill Advocacy Day. The event brought survivors, families, and supporters together to honor loved ones, raise awareness, and help advocates bring their voices to Washington, D.C.

Her effort helped inspire a growing network of community fundraising walks across the country.

Help Bring Advocates to Capitol Hill

Community fundraising is one way DDF helps make advocacy accessible to more people. Donations to the Advocacy Day scholarship fund help eligible stomach cancer survivors, caregivers, and families with costs associated with traveling to Washington, D.C. to participate in Stomach Cancer Capitol Hill Advocacy Day.

Your support helps bring more voices directly to policymakers and strengthens our collective efforts to advance stomach cancer research, awareness, prevention, and early detection.
