Increase Federal Funding for Stomach Cancer Research
Federal investment plays a critical role in advancing stomach cancer research and bringing new treatment options to patients.
DDF advocates for increased funding through:
- National Cancer Institute (NCI)
- Department of Defense Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program (DoD PRCRP)
These investments support innovative research, clinical trials, and scientific discoveries that have the potential to improve outcomes and save lives.
Advance Prevention & Early Detection
Many stomach cancer cases are linked to risk factors that can be identified and addressed earlier.
DDF is working to increase awareness of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a leading risk factor for stomach cancer, while supporting efforts to improve prevention and early detection.
Current advocacy efforts focus on expanding education and exploring screening opportunities for high-risk military populations as an important first step toward broader prevention initiatives.
