Hosted by Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer, the Ask the Experts Stomach Cancer Symposium brought together medical and supportive care experts, stomach cancer survivors, caregivers, and patient advocates for a half-day educational program addressing frequently asked questions and important issues affecting people with gastric cancer.
The symposium featured expert presentations addressing self-advocacy for patients and caregivers, integrative medicine, dietary considerations for people with gastric cancer, patient support services, and surgical approaches including HIPEC/PIPEC, robotic surgery, and enhanced recovery pathways. Throughout the program, patient advocates moderated Q&A discussions, bringing the patient perspective into conversations about treatment, supportive care, nutrition, and navigating the cancer journey.
