Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer partnered with Clínica Bonnadona to host the Encuentro Internacional de Cáncer Gástrico (International Gastric Cancer Symposium) in Barranquilla, Colombia, bringing together medical professionals, patients, caregivers, and international experts for a collaborative educational program focused on gastric cancer. The event represented an important step in DDF’s expanding international efforts to raise stomach cancer awareness, strengthen education and support, and foster collaboration across borders.
Held under the theme “¡Uniendo Fuerzas por la Vida!” (“Joining Forces for Life!”), the symposium provided attendees with information about developments in gastric cancer self-care, diagnosis, and treatment. The program featured educational sessions, opportunities for connection and networking, presentations on research, and discussion of best practices and advances in gastric cancer care to help patients and families make more informed decisions about their health.
By bringing DDF’s international patient advocacy and education efforts together with the expertise and regional reach of Clínica Bonnadona, the symposium helped connect the stomach cancer community in Colombia with information, resources, and perspectives on advances in gastric cancer care.
