5th Annual Advocacy Day

Forty advocates from twelve different states attended our 5th Annual Stomach Cancer Capitol Hill Advocacy Day. Advocates attended almost 100 meetings on the hill to fight for stomach cancer research funding. They urged legislators and the NCI to support the fight for a cure and informed them how important it is for stomach cancer to again be included in the $50 million DoD Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program (PRCRP) each year. DDF held a Capitol Hill Reception to honor Congressional Champions Representative John Culberson and Representative Danny Davis for their support for DDF’s mission. DDF also presented its 2nd Annual Volunteer of the Year Award to New Jersey South Chapter Founder Melani Vincelli and held a meeting the day prior to provide information, support, education, and training for advocates.
