The chapter in Frankfurt, Germany, was founded by Trudi because of her enthusiasm for the DDF mission to raise awareness about stomach cancer, advance funding for research, and provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers in German-speaking countries. Trudi's own awareness began in August 2013 when her sister, Holly, of Evanston, Illinois, was diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer.
Due to her late father's careers, first in the US Navy and then in the diplomatic arena, Trudi has lived in several European countries since the age of 16. She has used her language skills to further her own profession internationally in organizational development and human resources development. Trudi's goal is to combine her dedication to the cause with her multi-cultural understanding and language skills to be a chapter in Europe that makes a difference not only for her ‘big sister', but also for others challenged by the disease.
