Dr. Sahana Rajasekhara is the Interim Chair at the Department of Supportive Care Medicine, Moffitt Cancer Center. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Hospice, and Palliative Medicine, Dr. Rajasekhara is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She also serves as the Medical Director of the Supportive Care Medicine Inpatient service and is the Program Co-Lead for Moffitt’s Improving Goal-Concordant Care initiative from the Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers (ADCC). She is involved in initiatives focused on early integration of supportive care services throughout cancer care delivery and improving serious illness communication skills among providers across the institution. In her role as Palliative Care Education Director, Dr. Rajasekhara serves as the Fellowship Site Director for the USF-Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, as well as the Supportive Care Medicine Rotation Leader for the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship. With extensive experience in medical education, Dr. Rajasekhara is an instructor and invited speaker at several local, regional, and national conferences.
